For the US launch of the new Audi A6 we created this web commercial for the San Francisco based agency AKQA. AKQA asked for a spot that integrated motion graphics into live action footage, emphasizing the new features of the car.
We received sleek material as a starting point from which we created an energetic edit. That was also the base for the sound design by MOST in Amsterdam.
When we started sketching the first designs we intended to use motion graphics in a rather sophisticated way. Instead of 2D information graphics, we created style frames with 3D graphics surrounding the car and partly covering the environment. Matching the advanced features of the A6 we designed a hull that covered the surface of the automobile as well as a digital environment representing its intelligent features – getting visualized in extreme bullet time.
